KEENE — The identity of the man found dead in the woods off Route 101 on Oct. 6 has been confirmed as Peter R. ________.
____was reportedly found in the wooded area near Main Street. Keene police detective James McLaughlin said Tuesday that ____was known to police before he died.
“He was a registered sex offender,” McLaughlin said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner released the man’s identity, and police made the information public. McLaughlin said the death is not being investigated as suspicious at this time.
Click bait unless it’s determined he was killed because he was a registrant which then becomes more news worthy.
No reason to be suspicious and investigate the death of an unwanted sex offender, right?
He was homeless. The $EX Offender Registry hit lists continue to work as designed.
What I found interesting, and ironic on that site was another article on the sideline.
“NH judge blocks new election law from taking effect on eve of midterms”
Why is that?
“Supporters of SB 3, which imposed new proof of residency requirements, said it would deter voter fraud and voting by out-of-state residents. Opponents said the law was burdensome, unnecessary and targeted specific populations like college students.”
As with voter fraud, improving confidence in New Hampshire’s election system is not a significant state interest that justifies placing increased burdens on voters,” he wrote. “Moreover, there is no evidence that SB 3 even accomplishes its stated goal in this regard. The state presented no evidence that the new domicile affidavit has had any impact on the public’s perception of the election process.”
“Accordingly, the court finds plaintiffs have demonstrated a likelihood of success on the merits for their claim that SB 3 unconstitutionally burdens the right to vote.”
Oddly, there is no absolute right to vote, and somehow there is an “increased burden.” Maybe the State should use the Price Club membership case on appeal of the court’s decision. Maybe that coudl help reverse things
Nonetheless, he’ll remain on the registry so that the public can take proper precautions to protect themselves from this man. [/sarc]
Still wondering what exactly are the proper precautions one is supposed to take…..
I am so profoundly humbled to have known you Charlie 7. The focus of your “work” has impacted far too many, and yet, never enough. I hope that others will take the mantle when you rest.
